AniForte® Taurine Powder for cats is ideally suited as an addition to daily nutrition – including raw feeding. Unlike dogs, cats cannot produce sufficient taurine themselves and depend on it being supplied through their diet. This vital substance is particularly important for maintaining healthy retinal function, supporting the immune system and other metabolic processes.

For cats, taurine is an essential amino acid that must be supplied through food – the feline liver cannot produce sufficient quantities itself. The daily requirement for a normal-weight 4 kg cat is around 500 mg, though this can vary depending on age, condition, weight and energy needs. Kittens, pregnant and nursing cats, as well as older animals, have an increased taurine requirement. Many commercial feeds do not contain sufficient taurine, as it is largely destroyed by heat during processing.

Feeding recommendation

Cats: 0.5 g daily

(1 measuring spoon corresponds to 0.8 g)

The taurine can simply be mixed into the daily food.

Recommended maximum taurine levels per kg of complete feed with a moisture content of 12 % are 2,500 mg.

Note: Store in tightly closed containers in a cool and dry place. Reseal after opening. Protect from heat and direct sunlight. Protect from moisture.

Shelf life: 24 months from the date of manufacture in the original packaging when stored correctly.
